Weekly Classes

Weekly Yoga classes with Sue Peggs (Go direct to class times, dates and costs)

About the classes
My weekly yoga classes will give you a structured space to explore how your body moves, and how movement and breath work together. The classes can help to improve your health and wellbeing by alleviating stiffness and discomfort, and helping you keep or restore flexibility and balance.  During the class you can focus on looking at how your body works in parts and as a whole and where you have physical stresses and strains that cause discomfort and stiffness. Through movement, breath and relaxation it is possible that you can gradually improve how your body feels and functions. At the end of a class people usually find they are in a more relaxed and calm space.

All welcome
In the classes it is possible for people with more experience of Yoga to work alongside those with less experience because the focus in the teaching is about bringing your mind to bear on what you are doing, and doing it in a way that suits your body. The shape of the posture is a tool for exploration and in the class we all teach and learn from each other.

About the classes
In a typical live class we start with a brief seated or lying meditation, often followed by some supine exploration of particular movements that aim to free the joints, spine and breath so that the body is more prepared for Yoga postures. The class ends with relaxation (savasana) but every few weeks I give an extended Yoga nidra relaxation. The exception is the Wednesday Zoom class in which we do a simple movement session followed by Yoga Nidra.

I have been teaching Yoga for twenty years including the training of other Yoga teachers. Over the last ten years my main teachers have been direct students of Vanda Scaravelli so I hope that I convey that approach to the body to you. I have also learned Vedic Chant (with Sarah and Radha) as well as completing a Yoga Nidra training with the Yoga Nidra Network.
