  • 21 & 22 September 2019
  • 16 & 17 November 2019
  • 25 & 26 January 2020

A practical and experiential course in Sound and Chanting which could stand alone or act as a follow on to yoga teacher-training.
The course aims to increase the participants’ ability and desire to bring sound and chanting into their yoga practice and teaching, but also to allow each participant to have their own personal experience and journey with sound during the course.
Various mantras, chants and meditative practices will be taught in the traditional way, by ear, backed up with written sheets and handouts. Meanings and origins of the chants will be taught as well as other yoga philosophy and Sanskrit words as and when they arise in the chants. The course will also include yoga postures and exploring combining movement with sound, and some pranayama and meditative practices. The teaching of sound and chanting will be fully integrated with other aspects of yoga i.e. asana, pranayama, meditation and philosophy, to increase the participants’ understanding of sound and chanting as an integral part of yoga.
The course also aims to give participants an experience of sound on all levels of the self, and have their own personal process. The practice of sound and chanting can bring to our attention all manner of subtle patterns in ourselves, and through chanting these patterns can be transformed, as the person is held by this ancient practice. The practice of sound and chanting will be conveyed as a tool for support in life, and personal and spiritual development.

Cost £350.00 if paid in full or £130.00 per separate weekend.
